چکیده
The majority of cardiovascular laboratories concerned with diagnostic investigations routinely employ a variety of analgesic and sedative drugs during intravascular procedures. There is little doubt that many of these drugs have significant PHARMACOLOGY Dehydrobenzperidol. This drug, marketed under the trade name of droperidol, is one of the butyrophenone series of neuroleptic drugs with the configuration shown below.

Analgesia for the dressing of burns in children: a method using neuroleptanalgesia and Entonox.
IT was Smith & Hollis at East Grinstead in 1966 who first described in the British literature the use of neuroleptanalgesia for the dressing of burns. They had considerable success with the method but, as might be expected, there was some respiratory depression in a number of cases if the opiate was given in sufficient dosage to provide full analgesia. We repeated this work in Bristol in a seri...
متن کاملA comparative study of conventional premedication (pethidine, promethazine, and atropine) and neuroleptanalgesia (droperidol and phenoperidine) for peroral endoscopy.
A double blind comparison of conventional premedication (pethidine, promethazine, and atropine) and neuroleptanalgesia (droperidol and phenoperidine) failed to demonstrate any difference in either the comfort of the patient or ease of instrumentation in 70 upper gastrointestinal tract endoscopies. Further trials are needed before conventional premedication is abandoned.

The electrocardiographic and haemodynamic responses to the induction of anaesthesia, followed by laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation have been studied in a group of 16 untreated hypertensive patients, and a group of 20 patients receiving antihypertensive therapy up to and including the day of operation. The influence of five different induction agents, thiopentone, methohexitone, propanidi...

A total of 102 patients with phaeochromocytoma who underwent surgery by the same team between 1964 and 1976 were allocated to three groups according to the anaesthetic protocol used: (1) balanced anaesthesia and control of hypotension with noradrenaline; (2) anaesthesia with halothane and replacement of blood volume; (3) neuroleptanalgesia (droperidol and phenoperidine) and replacement of blood...
متن کاملNeuroleptanalgesia for intraocular surgery.
INTRAOCULAR SURGERY is usually performed using a combination of heavy sedation and local nerve blocks. 1,2 Occasionally, hypotension and respiratory depression are severe enough to require active resuscitation with oxygen, analeptic drugs, and a vasopressor. Most of these patients are elderly and are not monitored during the operation. In a few centres, general anaesthesia is used. It carries s...
